Here comes Santa Claus

Believe it or not, our house is not completely obsessed with goats. Allow me to change the subject momentarily to something more normal, like Christmas.

We thought about celebrating a less commercial holiday, but we already had Festivus in August, and adding a real holiday like Hanukkah or Kwanzaa would have been dubious since our only tie to them is through Daniel's "Jewish" and "African-American" heritage (he went to Catholic school and has skin so light he gets freckles from cooking). So instead we all decided that in honor of this special holiday, we'd go shopping. In the last few weeks we've bought a tree, some mistletoe, ornaments, strings of lights, stockings, cards, stamps, candies...and it isn't over yet.

Not to worry though, all this commercialism has a special Goatland feel to it. For instance, the stockings are hung by the fish tank with care. Pictures will follow...
